Color- Golden-yellow in color with darker bands of brown.
Behavor- Social bee that forage for pollen and nectar from fruits and flowers.
Habitat- Typically live in hollow trees, but can invade structures around eves and pillars.
Africanized Honeybee
Size- about 1/2 inch in length.
Color- Golden-yellow with darker bands of brown. ( Same as the European Honeybee )
Behavior- Very aggressive bee that attacts in a large swarm. Africanized Honebees look the same as the European Honeybee, so extreme caution should be taken when dealing with any bee.
Habitat- They live in same areas of the European Honeybees. Very difficult to know if they are Africanized until they attack.
House Spider
Size- The body ranges up to 3/8 inch in length, with a spherical abdomen.
Color- Usually brown or tan with various markings.
Behavior- They spin cobwebs for unsuspecting crawling insects.
Habitat- Typically found in corner on inside or ouside of buildings.
Housefly
Size- About 1/4 inch in length.
Color- Dark gray with four stripes on top of the thorax.
Behavior- The housefly is attracted to light and odorous smells.
Habitat- The housefly breeds outside in trash and decaying food debris.
Cricket
Size- Varies in size growing no more than 1-1/2 inches.
Color- Generally black or brown.
Behavior- Crickets are more active during the summer months. They like to chirp their legs creating the sound most people hear.
Habitat- Crickets usually stay outside around tall weeds and vegetation, but occassionally invade indoor structures.
Slug and Snail
Size- Most are small, but can reach 1 to 3 inches in length.
Color- Usually brown, yellow or green.
Behavior- Slugs crawl on moist areas at a very small pace. They tend to come out during the cooler parts of the day.
Habitat- They are found around gardens and can be found in damp basements and boiler rooms.
